My father recently upgraded to a HP-6540 printer from an old 1990s HP-540
printer. When printing envelopes on his old printer, he could simply click
on: Tools= Letters and Mailings--Envelopes and Labels-- Print. The envelope
would be successfully printed on a #10 envelope.

With the new 6540, after he goes through the same steps, he receives this
error:
PAPER SIZE ERROR
The paper size selected in your software is different than the size of the
paper in the paper tray. If you wish to use what is currently in the
device, push the cancel button on the printer, and then choose the correct
paper size when starting the print job again.

I know that we can go in and change the settings to a #10 envelope by
clicking on the printer icon, but that is an extra step in the process and my
father gets flustered by any changes to his routine. I have also tried
changing the defaults on the printer to default to printing on #10 envelopes,
but then all of his printing off the web or email comes out in envelope form.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can provide.
