Default The "Reading View" is a giant step backwards!!!

The "reading view" is a giant step backwards to before what you see is what
you get. Why would you ever want that.

I can only conclude it's for people reading documents on PDAs and cell
phones.

I tend to agree, though as Suzanne points out, it does have value on some
displays. If you don't like it, switch it off and don't use it.
