Default Fill in different background colors in a table in word?

I want to give different colors to different cells in a table I have created
in word. Selecting the text and then choosing the background tool colors the
whole page. I couldn't find any tool in the table properties menu also.
Niether the office assistance was of any use. Please Help!

Use FormatBorders and ShadingShading.
