Default Can I make word always flag 2 words I continually switch?

I always type "loose" when I mean "lose." Can I force spell-check to always
flag those two words?

Thank you.

Yes, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/Ex...ordFromDic.htm. Note that
in Word 2007 either spell checking or grammar checking (not sure which) will
do this automatically.

Suzanne,

thank you. The article you linked me to had the wrong path in it. I did
find the .lex file, but it was an Outlook file type. Still, I followed the
instructions and it didn't work. However, I did find instructions under Word
help topics and followed them successfully. The file path the article
provided was incorrect (even though the .lex files were there). Here is the
correct file path: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Proof. The dictionary files are actually in two places.

Entering "Specify a preferred spelling for a word" as a Word help topic will
provide the complete instructions.

Thanks so much. You got me pointed in the right direction.

Note that the article was written for Word 97 and 2000. The path will vary
depending on version (and OS--some operating systems don't have user
profiles), but the path given in the Help file in some versions is
incorrect, which is why the article tells you how to search for it.

You will note that the path given in #5 is homedrive:\Documents and
Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof, which to me looks
identical to the path you cited.

I'm not sure how you can say it is incorrect when the path it gives is
identical to the one you cited.

Suzanne,

You are correct. I didn't read far enough. Thank you again for helping me.
