Hello, I just purchased a new computer with Windows Vista. It came with
Microsoft Works version 9.0. I have Works 7.0 which I purchased in 2003. I
wanted Microsoft Word, but could only get it in Works 7.0. It contained other
software plus Internet Explorer 6.0. I cannot purchase Word 2007 now and need
to reinstall it. To reinstall will it override version 9.0 and overwrite
Internet Explorer 7 to 6. I Don't want to do that. What can I do? It doesn't
give me the option to not install Internet Explorer 6.

You should run Works Setup, advanced option and chose ONLY Word. Nothing
else will be installed.

Please note that there is a specific newsgroup for Works.
