Default Can I set a removable Flash Drive as Word 2003 backup location?

In Office 2003 I'd like to have my automatic backups placed directly onto my
removable flash drive rather than in same folder as the original saved file.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

This is not possible. You could perhaps point AutoRecovery backups to
another drive, but not the backups created by "Automatically create backup
copy." Note that these may not be what you think they are; see

As Suzanne has intimated this is not possible, but you will find a macro
workaround at http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm
