No, but it may be difficult to persuade the installer of this, as it wants
to install Internet Explorer if you don't already have it (sometimes even if you do). The reason for this is that "user assistance" is increasingly provided online rather than in local Help files. Although you can use Word without an Internet connection, you have access to much greater resources (Help, clip art, templates, etc.) if you are connected. -- Suzanne S. If you have Word 2003 and no internet, you will have limited clip art.
