file types corrupt
HI Everyone, I need some help that's driving me nuts!
I have a laptop w\win xp sp2 - office 2003 sp3 + office 2007 compatibility pack I receive an email with an .docx attachments. You click on the attachment to open and get this error "C:\documents and Settings\XXXX\desktop\testword.docx" This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. NOW I have all the components in place. I even uninstalled office 2003 & Compatibility pack, remove all entries from the registry that reference office (11.0 & 12.0) I renamed the mapi32.dll & msmapi32.dll. SAME Error! What I did find was - It's the file type association! Do any of you know of a away to refresh the office file types? I checked the settings and if i play w\the settings i can make the files open but it's buggy! when i uninstalled office all file types go away but they are in the registry somewhere€¦because when I added the &new it came back€¦€¦.. Any help appreciated!!!! |
