Word 2003, Scrolling text problems, Marquee??
Hi,
I am new here and I am taking a class in college dealing in Microsoft Office Pro 2003. We are on oue last chapter called Integration and I have to creat a scrolling text in Word, but I keep getting an error message that says, "This object was created in MARQUEE. This application is not available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed." I have no idea what this is talking about. Do I have something missing from my Office program? I feel as if I am taking a long shot by coming here and asking for help, because my chapter assingments are due tonight by 11:59pm. Please can someone help me, so I can finsh my work before finals?!?!??? -- Have a great day! |

Leslie,
I have no experience with this problem, but found the following: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886299 It appears that your problem may be associated with WIndowsXP SP2. -- Greg Maxey/Word MVP A Peer in Peer to Peer Support Leslie wrote: Hi, I am new here and I am taking a class in college dealing in Microsoft Office Pro 2003. Greg,
This does help me a bit, now I know why it is malfunctioning. All I need now is to find where I can correct the problem. I have been searching Microsoft for a while now and have come up with nothing. Does anyone know where I could look? These controls were disabled for security reasons. The only way to regain
the functionality is to uninstall SP2, which is not recommended. -- Suzanne S. LOL I don't know what to say now. Looks like I have to call my college
instructor and ask her what she wants me to do. I hope they come up with a solution to this problem soon! Thank you so much for all of your help, I am grateful! "Suzanne S. hello "Leslie",
I am new here like you. I used to get the same problem with scrolling text. That hapened to me after I installed xp sp2. Not only this so many things changed to my office 2oo3. I unistalled the xp sp2 after that everything came back to normal. Since then I didn't install xp sp2. Without it everything fine. If that is the case try my way. Good luck. I hope by now your question have been answered. Take care. Asrar Abdu. "Leslie" wrote: Hi, I am new here and I am taking a class in college dealing in Microsoft Office Pro 2003. Hi Asrar Abdu,
I very much hope that you have taken care to implement other security measures on your PC to replace the ones in XP SP2. At a bare minimum, you need a software firewall such as ZoneAlarm and a capable, up-to-date virus detector. In addition, if you use a broadband connection (cable, DSL, etc. instead of dial-up) I highly recommend a hardware firewall/router. Also use spyware protection such as AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Microsoft did not make the changes in SP2 just to annoy you. There are serious hazards on the Internet, and you need to take them seriously. It's not just about you, either -- if you become infected with viruses and trojans, you become a hazard to others. Please be careful! -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Asrar Abdu wrote: hello "Leslie", I am new here like you. I used to get the same problem with scrolling text.
