Default Display of readability stats

I created a document-in-progress & specified inclusion of readability stats
for it. Now, when I access it for further work, the readability stats do not
appear, and if I go to "Tool" then "Options," the "readability stats"
contains a check mark, but it appears in pale gray print, which seems to mean
it isn't active. How do I get the readability stats back?

Thanks,

In ToolsOptionsSpelling & Grammar, make sure there is a check in the box
to 'Check grammar with Spelling'. That should correct the situation.
