[KharodPAI]

Whenever I attempt to italicize a word near the top margin instead the word
becomes hyper-italicized (smooshed down and extremely slanted). What can I
do to have the words appear in a normal italicized manner?

Does the font you're using actually have an italic variant? Is the line
spacing in the paragraph set to an Exact amount? What are the Compatibility
Options settings regarding suppressing space at the top of a page?
