Bullet style problem
I have customized a bullet style structure with nine
levels and different bullet symbols for each. There are two problems: 1. Typing twice the enter key does not allow me to return to normal style as is usual for bullet lists. What I get is the bullet style with the indent but without the bullet. I have to manually return to normal. 2. While some bullets have been left to their original size others have been customized to 16 pts or more. The former change size according to that of the adjoining text while the customized don't changed size any more even when the text is enlarged considerably. Is there a way for them to regain their link with the size of the adjoining text? Thank you in advance for any advice |

1. Setting style for next paragraph as normal beats the
purpose of bulleted paragraphs: usually one wishes them to continue for some lines to distinguish various topics or points one is making. 2. Clearing the size of the font does not break the link with the previously assigned font size, at least not on my computer. I'm using Word 2002. -----Original Message----- "Rob" wrote in message ... Agreed, but your previous post complained of the opposite. You can't have it both ways: either you continue with the list style, or you return to normal. 2. Clearing the size of the font does not break the link with the previously assigned font size, at least not on my computer. I'm using Word 2002. Works for me. If the font is set to a specific size, the list uses it; if blank, it uses the underlying paragraph font size. I'm just guessing about W2002, but it works that way in W2000 and W2003. -----Original Message----- "Rob" wrote in message ... 1. Keep the bullet style as the "Style for following paragraph" then,
and use CTRL+SHIFT+N to apply the Normal style. 2. After you have modified the settings for the style, press CTRL+Q for the paragraphs that don't behave; this should reset paragraph formatting to style. -- Stefan Blom "Rob" wrote in message ... 1. -----Original Message----- 1. Keep the bullet style as the "Style for following paragraph" then, and use CTRL+SHIFT+N to apply the Normal style. That's what I have been doing. I was hoping there was an automatic way to set return to normal by clicking twice enter, just as it is possible for other bulleted paragraphs. 2. After you have modified the settings for the style, press CTRL+Q for the paragraphs that don't behave; this should reset paragraph formatting to style. -- Stefan Blom "Rob" wrote in message ... 1. Agreed, but your previous post complained of the opposite. You can't have it both ways: either you continue with the list style, or you return to normal. You can return to normal in standard bullet lists by clicking twice Enter. My question from the start was if it is possible to do so also for customized structured lists Rob 2. Them perhaps it is just a problem on my computer and I'll have to live with it till I upgrade. Anyhow I appreciate you trying to help. Why can't you use one of the provided solutions? Using a keyboard
shortcut is practical, and it's also very fast. Note that if you want to apply a style that has no shortcut by default, you can define one (in the Modify Style dialog box). Alternatively, you can change an existing shortcut to one that you are comfortable with. -- Stefan Blom "Pete Goodchild" wrote in message ...
