I would like to know how to complete my Chemistry assignments using MS word

Couldn't you use the Equation Editor?

Doing Chemistry assignments in Word
Although Equation Editor is useful for complex formulas, most can easily be
typed in Word. Use Insert | Symbol to find any special characters you need (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm) and Ctrl+= to format characters as subscript. -- Suzanne S.
