what is the maximum number of columns that you can use in a table
According to "Operating parameter limitations and specifications in Word"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211489), the maximum number of columns in a table is 63. But the practical limitation is based on page width (letter portrait vs. legal landscape, for example), margins, and cell margins. You can increase the number of columns that will fit by removing borders and setting cell margins to 0". -- Suzanne S. It's 63 in Word 97 and 2000 as well. It was 31 for Word 95.
