Quick Parts Question
If I want to save boilerplate in QuickParts that includes headers and footers
in that part of the document, how do I select the entire selection including the header and footer so I can put it into Quick Parts? (my intention is to create standard template sections for multiple users to have access to) Or am I using the wrong way to solve this? thanks CJF |

Quick Parts Question
You can do this if you include the section break at the end of the section
before you assign it as a Quick Part. The headers and footers for the section should have the "Link to Previous" button (in the Header & Footer Tools ribbon) turned off first. When you insert this Quick Part into a document, if you don't want its headers and footers to overwrite those of the existing section, you have to be sure there is a section break just before the point where the Quick Part will be inserted. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
