Default Row numbers

I've been asked to "throw a Word table into Excel" without having the column
headings appear on Row 1 of the sheet. Is there a way to have the table
headings appear ABOVE Row 1?

I would appreciate your help since I have very little experience with Excel.

I suspect what you need to do is copy all the table except the heading row
and paste into Excel. Or paste the entire table and delete the heading row.
