Default How do I make a word document fillable with fields for users?

I have a one page questionnaire I want to put fields in. Users will have a
variety of computer skills so I want it to be just click and fill in. I
thought Insert/Fields would work but it hasn't. Do I have to start with a
template or something else?

You are on the right track. You will want to open the "FORMS" toolbar and
insert your fill-in fields form thsi toolbar. One special note, the fill-in
fields do not accept data until you "lock" the form, use the lock at right
end of the toolbar before saving the document.

Hope this helps.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and
especially the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at

Hope this helps,
