Default how to use header first page starts at 67 etc.

trouble with Word 2002 when using header. typing manuscript. Need step by
step "how to" when it comes to chapter 2,3, etc. Need page one of chapter 3
to read pg 67 and the next page 68 etc. It just stays at the same 67 for
each page. Thank you Cara Suchman at

I take it that you are creating separate documents for each chapter for some
reason? It would be simpler to keep the lot as one document and the page
numbers would follow logically.

However, you can open the header/footer view and from the header toolbar
format page number and set the required start number, then insert page
number from the toolbar.

Or forget the page number format and insert the following fields by hand
using CTRL+F9 to set the field boundaries
{={Page}+66} then F9 to toggle the display and update the field result.
