Default No Mail Merge

Help! I have been unable to use my mail merge feature on any of my databases.
I have unchecked the DDE box but the dialogue box still refuses to open any
data source. This is really frustrating! What is wrong? It used to work
fine.Is there a setting in word that is making the program unresponsive.

To overcome the problem, initiate the merge from Access via the Tools menu,
Office Links, Merge It with Microsoft Office Word.
