Printing Label Lists with Word 2007
I developed a set of labels in Word 2003 several years ago,. It was simple
and straightforward both to create the files and to then print the labels at any time. I've been trying to reprint those files using Word 2007. So far, I've found it impossible. The Labels option brings up a box that allows you to choose either Full page of the Same Label ( the first one shown on the file) or Single Label ( again the first one shown). Neither way will it then print the entire file (already properly set up for labels) .I've wasted several Avery label sheets trying. I tried Mail Merge , but that wound up with the same box I've already described. . If anyone can provide me with the correct sequence of actions, I'd really appreciate it. |

I don't quite understand your problem. If you created the labels before
(regardless of version of Word), you should be able to open them in Word 2007 and print them. What is stopping you doing that? -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "George5" u48228@uwe wrote in message news:8ec41edfdfb44@uwe... I developed a set of labels in Word 2003 several years ago,. Just insert the page of labels in your printer and print the document! -- Asking a question? Could be that your printer is not capable of properly feeding the label
stock. What happens if you print the labels on plain paper? Are they then arranged correctly? -- Hope this helps. Not true as the printer driver may not be fully compatible with Office 2007.
Check that you have the latest printer driver from the support site. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "George5 via OfficeKB.com" u48228@uwe wrote in message news:8ecf2a33eb428@uwe... Printing Label Lists with Word 2007
I can no longer print labels created in Word 2003 using Word 2007 on my two
year old HP all-in-one printer. It was a breeze to set up and print before I made the switch. I've even tried recreating with a new template, so it would seem that it's the printer driver. Unfortunately, it appears that HP has not updated the printer driver to correct this, but frankly I'm not convinced that Office did their part to ensure a smooth transition for their customer either. I'm not happy with MS right now and don't think much of Vista or Office 2007. What, I need to go shell out a few hundred dollars for a new all-in-one machine? Printing Label Lists with Word 2007
I don't see how buying a new printer is going to help if the problem is with
HP's printer driver. HP makes excellent hardware, but their software often leaves much to be desired. They have a web page http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/ that covers a variety of printer drivers to put right odd issues that they keep quiet about. See if there is one there for your printer. What *exactly* is the problem when you try to print your existing label document? What is the *template* you refer to? Have you tried creating a new label document using the labels tool on the mailings tab? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Gearsgirl wrote: I can no longer print labels created in Word 2003 using Word 2007 on my two year old HP all-in-one printer. Printing Label Lists with Word 2007
I understand your frustration, but it is not as though MS suddenly launched
Vista and Office 2007 onto the World ill prepared. Vista was in beta for over two years and Office for almost a year. What were HP's driver programmers doing during that period? Well they wrote new drivers for new printers they were going to sell. Tough on owners of older printers that were incompatible. You can hardly say that MS didn't provide the opportunity to prepare and test. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Gearsgirl" wrote in message news I can no longer print labels created in Word 2003 using Word 2007 on my two year old HP all-in-one printer.
