Default delete text boxes from word document leaving text intact

I have a word document in word 2003. The problem is it is all in text
boxes which I can edit, but when it comes to the printing stage (209 pages
with pictures, 107MB) it takes forever to print even at Officeworks! The
girl there seems to think it is the text boxes making it so big. We have
done a lot of work on it since converting it to word and would hate to have
to start again. Is there a way of getting rid of the text boxes? I
converted some of them to frames and deleted them but it seems to muck up the
generated footer which then becomes too low on the page. I love the footer as
it numbers the pages etc. but if we have to do it another way well we will.
Can you help? Can we convert the document to another form to make the
printing easier?

PDF? Certainly will reduce the file size. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat
(not the Reader), download one or the other of two free programs at:
http://www.primopdf.com or http://www.win2pdf.com Officeworks folks will
love you!

Can't you just adjust the footer margin?
