I have a large document (1700 pages) that was originally put on a CD. I now
need to have my local Office Depot print it for me. The document will
eventually be put into two volumes by my genealogy society. I want to put it
on a disk to give to Office Depot, but I want to split it at about 900 pages.
Is there an easy way to delete half the text in the document? I tried to
delete by cutting, but it is taking forever to select text from the mid-point
to the bottom of the last page.

Click at the mid point. Then scroll to the end and shift-click the end
point.
