Default different margins for 1st and next pages without section break

Hello,

I am trying to create a word letter template which has the 1st-page left
margin different from the left margin of the other pages --- actually the
margin are 7cm for the 1st page and 5cm for the others.

However I want the text to flow in a continuous stream from 1st page to 2nd
one, i.e. without section break... Because as I am typing or editing the
text, the position of section break could very vell will vary...

Instead of using section break to set the different margin sizes, I found
the following solution: define a 5cm left margin for the whole document and
put an invisible drawing canvas on the 1st page. The canvas force the text to
shift to the right, as though the 1st page left margin was 7cm...

Everything works fine... until I try to use hanging paragraph indentation on
the 1st page... The hanging simply does not work because of the canvas... The
very same style (with hanging paragraph identation) works on the 2nd and
following pages...

Has anyone ever experienced the problem? Better yet, a solution, or work
around?

Thanks

Try this, Francois:

And, if you want "different margins", try something like this, except you'll
just use a "blank" textbox.

This is a known bug. FWIW, Word's built-in styles that have hanging indents
(the List Number and List Bullet series, for example, but not, I think, the
List series) do work in this situation, as does applying bullets or
numbering using the toolbar buttons. It is possible, I have found (albeit
tricky), to remove the numbering from such a style and maintain the indent
or hanging indent.

The bottom line is that Word will honor any indent set in the Numbering
dialog, but not one set in the Paragraph dialog.
