Default how to wrap text when pasting e-mail or notepad into Word?

Dear Word Users,
My search has been in vain so far for a way to wrap text in Word when I cut
and paste from, say, Notepad or an e-mail. The sentences jump

around like

this.

Is there a "word wrap" function somewhere on Word similar to what you find
in Notepad?
Any, all help greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up Answer: how to wrap text when pasting e-mail or notepad into Word?

Hi B,

Yes, there is a way to wrap text in Word when you paste from Notepad or an email. Here's how:
  1. First, copy the text you want to paste into Word from Notepad or the email.
  2. Open a new or existing Word document and place your cursor where you want to paste the text.
  3. Click on the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  4. In the "Clipboard" section, click on the arrow in the bottom right corner to open the "Clipboard" pane.
  5. In the "Clipboard" pane, click on the icon that looks like a clipboard with a "W" on it. This is the "Keep Text Only" button.
  6. Now, when you paste the text into Word, it will automatically wrap to fit the width of the page.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Paste Special" function to wrap the text. Here's how:
  1. Copy the text you want to paste into Word from Notepad or the email.
  2. Open a new or existing Word document and place your cursor where you want to paste the text.
  3. Click on the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  4. In the "Clipboard" section, click on the arrow in the bottom right corner to open the "Clipboard" pane.
  5. In the "Clipboard" pane, click on the "Paste Special" button.
  6. In the "Paste Special" dialog box, select "Unformatted Text" and click "OK".
  7. Now, when you paste the text into Word, it will automatically wrap to fit the width of the page.

The problem is that such text has paragraph marks at the end of each line.
You can use AutoFormat or Find and Replace to clean it up, or display
non-printing characters and delete them yourself.
