Default setting page layout to print index cards on A4 sheet

I've produced 4"x6" size price tags on word and want to know how to set page
setup to print 4 at a time on an A4 sheet, word only recognizes these as
individual pages and so only prints 1 at a time and consequently I'm wasting
3/4 of a page each time it prints one out. I have about 30 different ones.

Tell Word to print pages 1, 1, 1, 1.

Default setting page layout to print index cards on A4 sheet

Whether or not you can set up multiple pages to print on a page depends on
your printer driver and not MS Word. Select File/Print/Options. There may
be a different number of tabs if you have a complicated printer. But if the
feature is there on the options or one one tab of the options, you can select
both the paper size and the number of pages to print on one sheet. But it
may also mess up the alignment when you print this way.

The other possiblity is create a new A4 size page, and use a table. Easiest
way to create your table is to select the table button on the standard
toolbar (rectangle with blue bar on top, 9 white blocks underneath, no green
Excel "X" on it). A table attached to this button will pop up. For your
tags, select the box second from the top and second from the left - which
will give you a 2x2 table). As a default, the lines will be visible. Keep
them that way until you get your alignment set.

Copy onetag into each of the four squares.

To adjust the lines of the table, put your cursor over them until it changes
to a double line with arrows pointing out. Then click and drag the lines to
where you want them (this will not work with the top horizontal line). Print
some samples to make sure you have your alignment correct for your paper.
Edit the content of one of the tags if necessary, then copy it again to the
other cells.

Once you get the alignment the way you want, select the entire table (drag
your cursor over opposite corner cells, or from the Table menu hit Select,
then table. Go to Format, Borders & Shading, then select None (upper left
corner), and hit OK (If you want some lines, you can select Custom, then use
the diagram on the right to pick which lines, how dark, and whether you want
dashes instead of solid lines.

Then you will have your four tickets on the same page exactly the way you
want them, and the printer driver will not matter.
