Normally you type in a few underscores, press enter and get a horizontal
line.

Now that function has disappeared and I can't get it back.

"Help" as usual is no help.

Could some one pls point me to the right menu?

This is the "Automatic border" feature on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of
Tools | AutoCorrect.
