Please clarify your thinking.
Do you wand to make multiple selections and then name them as bookmarks?
If so, develop an AddIn/Macro to do this - Word Macro's are available to
implement unusual requirements.

Default The Insert Bookmark box shouldn't vanish after adding a bookma

OK, I'll spell this out more fully. Let's say I have created a document with
26 numbered points in it. Now I want to go through the document in sequence
and insert a bookmark in front of each. So I place the cursor at the first
item, open the Insert Bookmark box, type in the name, and click Add. (Or hit
Enter.) The box disappears, although I'd like to return to the text,
reposition the cursor, return to the box, enter a new name, etc.

This is a borderline suggestion, because many people--maybe most
people--would want to enter only a single bookmark at a time.

Or would they? I don't know. That's why I'm putting it up for a vote. It
just might be desired.

Add the bookmark when you type the text instead of afterwards?
No one is voting by the way. All the people replying to your threads use
actual newsgroup readers to access these newsgroups and not the clumsy
web interface. So no one has the voting buttons.

Default The Insert Bookmark box shouldn't vanish after adding a bookma

I think some people have a habit of adding bookmarks one at a time as they
write, and some people have a habit of writing (or pasting) a lot of text,
and then getting it organized and footnoted and bookmarked all at once, in a
separate step. This second group's requirements aren't so unusual that they
should have to write a macro. A simple and easy solution would be for MS to
include a checkbox labeled "Retain this box after execution." (This is a
feature I've already encountered somewhere in Windows.) Those who wanted the
Insert Bookmark box retained would check it; those who didn't would leave it
alone. (If checked, it would remain checked the next time the dialog box was
invoked.)
