How do I stop Word from inserting an auto sized shape/text box
In the old Word I used to be able to click on Text Box, or an Auto Shape, and
then be able to size and place the box wherever I wanted. Now, it autmatically inserts a presized shape where IT wants to in my document. It's an extra step for me now, because then I have to either resize the box it gives me, or delete the box and make my own. It is annoying. |

Try clicking on [Tools | Options | General] and uncheck - [Automatically create drawing canvas...] Regards Mike "Lynnea" wrote: In the old Word I used to be able to click on Text Box, or an Auto Shape, and then be able to size and place the box wherever I wanted.
