Default The symbol dialog box in Word is gone. How do I get it back?

I'm using MSWord 2002, SP3. I just noticed that the symbol dialog box, which
normally appears under "Symbol" in the "Insert" menu, is not there. Does
anyone know how I could restore it?

See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/LostSymbol.htm for an explanation of
how you lost it as well as instructions for restoring it.
