merging office documents
Dear all
i want to merge serverl office 2007 documents into single one. each doc has a specific header which i want to remain intact in the merged final document. I know how to merge. 1. Click Insert option in the Office Fluent Ribbon menu bar 2. Click on the Down arrow at the right side of Object. 3. Select Text from File€¦ option. ...etc. this procedure is OK but the header becomes the same as the first document, and this is the problem. how can i make all individual documents preserve its header in the final document and without header and page number for each first page in that document . best regards thaar |

Put a Section Break at the end of the document before you insert the next
one and unlink the headers and footers in that section from those in the previous Section. Or alternatively (and this may work better), insert a next page section break at the beginning of each document before inserting it and unlink the header in the section containing the text from that in the section before it. -- Hope this helps. When you access the Header or Footer area of a document, the Header & Footer
Tools Design tab will be added to the Ribbon and in the Navigation section of that tab of the ribbon, there is a "Link to Previous" button that will appear with an orange back ground if the header/footer in the current section is linked to that in the previous one. Clicking on that button toggles the link on and off. -- Hope this helps, Doug Robbins - Word MVP Please reply only to the newsgroups unless you wish to obtain my services on a paid professional basis. Unless you have used a StyleRef field, you have to manually change the
