Default remove printing gray markup area

hi--does anyone know how to change default setting that prints the markup
area for reviewing comments and edits in gray shading?

I have long papers to print, with lots of comments on the right hand side,
and in word 2003, they printed to the right with a little shading inside the
balloon.

Now in Word 2007 the entire right side of the page is gray, and the comment
balloons are on top of that in a darker gray.

this is a big waste of toner it seems!

resource sensitive MS word user,
Tara
