Default i cant use my microsoft word

i tried to go into word to write a letter but when i open up it said i had to
convert. I started to go along with it then it asked me for a product code,
so i entered the only number i have which was on coloured piece of paper with
a bar code that said Trial key whichi entered an it was wrong. Do you have
any idea why i cant use it now?
