different margins on first page
In addition to being able to specify different headers and footers for the
first page in your document/section, users should be able to specify different margins for the first page as well. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. You can. Margins can be different for each section.

different margins on first page
Hi Jezebel,
Sorry for being somewhat unclear. Within sections, you can, if you wish, apply different settings for the first page of the section... as far as headers and footers are concerned. It would be nice if the same could be said of margins. When your section break, originally placed on the first page, somehow arrives on page 2, the margins defined for the first section will be applied to page 2 as well. With the suggested feature, this would be prevented. This allows further different formatting for, say, the title page of your document. Cooz "Jezebel" wrote: You can. The same CAN be said of margins. Look at Suzanne's link for how.

different margins on first page
Hi Jezebel and Suzanne,
I'm not convinced. You can set top and bottom margins, but only simulate different left and right margins by inserting frames or text boxes. This is a workaround - of which I knew - to produce the same effect, but it is not the same. Moreover, if you need smaller left and right margins on your first page than on your other pages, you would have a text box or frame on every page except the first. That may be okay of course but, well, it's no so elegant. I agree that maybe the need for my suggested feature is not that high since this workaround exists. Cooz "Suzanne S. different margins on first page
I agree it's not ideal. The only other option is to insert a section break,
and while this works for things like title pages, it is not satisfactory for continuous text such as letters. -- Suzanne S.
