Word 2003 Move Handle
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the table move handle in
Word 2003? I have recently installed a program that changed a few things in Word. I have corrected all but this. Thanks for any and all help! -- ldm |

Word 2003 Move Handle
What do you mean by "turn off"? The handle is not available in Normal view.

Word 2003 Move Handle
I do not normally work in Normal View, as I use alot of graphics and such
that need to be moved around. I have always been used to moving a table by hitting enter. I understand that for some the move handle may be easier, but to me it is cumbersome-especially when you go back and add text or a graphic before it. That seems to throw everything out of alignment and sometimes text gets hidden behind it. Can I change Print view so that I don't have to use the handle? -- ldm "Suzanne S. Word 2003 Move Handle
I don't understand what you mean by using Enter. You can press Enter at the
end of a paragraph before the table and the table will be moved down. Once you have moved the table with the table handle, however, the wrapping is changed from None to Around; if you change it back (Table tab of Table Properties), you should be in business. When you want to move a table some distance, instead of dragging it, use Cut and Paste. -- Suzanne S. Word 2003 Move Handle
Thanks, I did try this and it worked. I have used Microsoft products for 15
years and Word 2003 for 2 years now and have always worked with tables in documents, yet I have never seen (or maybe I just didn't pay attention to) the move handle. Like I said in my earlier post, until I installed this other program that uses Word as an editor, I had never seen this. I am assuming then, that there isn't a way to not use the handle when in Print View. Thanks for all your help! -- ldm "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: I don't understand what you mean by using Enter.
