Default graphics are flipped or moved when opened in Word 2003

Documents are opening fine with their graphics in Word 2000 but when the
document is opened in Word 2003 the graphics are moved or flipped. This is
happening with all documents with graphics and there are too many to simply
re-embed them all.
We have re-imaged the computer and reloaded office 2003, verified that all
updates are done- no difference.
All suggestions welcome
Thank you

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=312838 "Pictures in
Earlier Office Documents Appear Flipped".
