You need a date formatting switch on the field
eg {DATE \@ "MMMM d, yyyy"} See http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org chill wrote: I have a dilemma. Press Alt+F9 to display field codes. You'll see something like
{ DATE \@ "M/d/yy" }. Change the M/d/yy part to: "MMM d, YYYY" so that you have: { DATE \@ "MMMM d, yyyy" }. Press F9 to update. Press Alt+F9 again to re-display the field result. Note, however, that if the date was really inserted as a DATE field, it will update to the current system date; if you prefer to display the *creation date* of the file, replace the DATE part with CREATEDATE. In other words, you need the following field: { CREATEDATE \@ "MMMM d, yyyy" }. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "chill" wrote in message ... I have a dilemma.
