Is it possible to transfer track-change comments from a word document to an
excel document? Need to document the track-change comments as a separate
document, but don't know how.

See the following article that includes a macro that will extract all the
track changes to a Word table within a new document, obviously this table can
then be copied into Excel.
I have used this myself several times and after a few minor cosmetic changes
got a good result.
