Default how do create a mathematical formula in word

On the Insert menu, click Object. Choose "Microsoft Equation 3.0". If
it isn't listed, you need to install the Equation Editor from your
Word or Office CD. See:

Equation Editor is not available in the "Insert Object Type" list
