Default stop th from changing small with a number

How do I stop the th in say 9th to become smaller. As well as how to turn
off the switch that does the same thing in 2nd. thanks

ToolsAutoCorrect OptionsAutoFormat AsYouTypeReplace As You Type

Uncheck "Ordinals with superscript"

Go to Tools, Autocorrect and select the AutoFormat as you type tab. Untick
Ordinals (1st) with superscript.
