Default .doc to .html

Hi,
I have a .doc word file that I converted to .html. In doing so a subfolder
was created called xxxxx_files. In that folder are may files with a .png
extension. Could someone tell me what these files are? They are rather
large.
Thanks,

Those are all the graphics that were in the Word file. If you're going
to publish the HTML file to a web server, that folder needs to go
along with it; otherwise the graphics will be replaced by the "broken
link" icon.
