Default Extending the length of a form field

Is it possible for a single form field to extend the length of a page? I
would like to create a form with lines that go all the way across the page,
so that when a user types in it, it looks like he is typing on the line
itself. So I would need the form field to be locked. Thanks.

Create a table cell with a bottom border and put the text form field in it.
