Default how do convert to inches when resizing of a single envelope

I never seem to understand the sizes stated in Word for lets say resizing a
birthday card. For instances what is a B6. I've entered the size of the
envelope in the custom setting but it never fits properly onto the envelope.

You might want to use the "Custom" option for envelopes so you can type in
the width and height of the envelope you are using, if it is not a standard
envelope size.

This website gives help for working with envelopes in MS Word.
http://www.uwec.edu/help/Word03/workenv.htm

This website gives the name and the size of standard American envelopes
http://www.alltrace.com/envelopes.html (there are other websites out there if
you need European envelope sizes).
