Default different font and paragraph styles

I am applying styles to a Doc that someone else made they have used some
styles. I am trying to change the doc with new styles. When I make a new
style and try to apply it to sections that have the old style it dosn't do
anything. In the reveal formatting the paragraph style changes to the correct
thing but the font does not. How do I make a style that changes everything.

Default different font and paragraph styles

After applying the style, select the paragraph and press Ctrl+Spacebar.
