Can;t insert new section without inserting new page
Hello
As the title says, I want to insert new section in my Word doc, but every time I press OK Break window. It's always the same, whether I have selected Next Page or Continuous checkbox. I dont want a new page to be created. I just want to separate my existing document into sections. Is that possible? Thanks |

You'll get a "Next Page" break if the sorts of changes you're making in the
new section affect page size, orientation, etc. -- Suzanne S. Thanks for the answer.
The problem is, I don't do any kind of changes. I have my doc ready, point my cusror at the start of Heading 1 and: Insert - Break - Continuous. And I have a page break! Can't it stop? Do you have columns or footnotes in the doc?

Two of the pages contain footnotes. Is that the problem? Should I remove them?

But no columns? There's a known bug with the interaction of footnotes and
columns that's explained he http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...panColumns.htm But that doesn't sound like quite your problem. Why do you need this continuous section break anyhow? Anyhow, maybe try removing them temporarily and seeing if it lets you put in the break and then put the footnotes back. Also, you said you were inserting the continuous break just before Heading 1? See if it will let you do it in a slightly different location--add some enters before Heading 1 and try it in the middle. DM On 2/17/05 11:31 PM, "Nikos" wrote: Two of the pages contain footnotes.
