Default Locking Two Words Together to Make a Proper Compound Noun in Word

Hi there, guys. I am trained in Word but have been working in WordPerfect
for the last six years and not using Word at all. Now the office is making
the switch to Word and I find I have either forgotten how to join two words
together to make a proper noun that cannot be separated or the keystokes to
the hot keys may have changed.

Any ideas/info would be helpful.
