Default Using heading style and body text in same paragraph

I want to be able to use an automatically numbered bold section title and
then switch to unbold body text without starting a new paragraph. I know
this ought to be really simple, but can't find an answer in Word 2003 help
screens. Can anyone give me a tip?

Thanks.

Look at http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BlankPage.htm, in the
sections "Hidden paragraph mark" and "Style separator".
