Word can't split graphics over more than one page. If you have Publisher,
try that.

You'll need the help of a picture editor to do that. Try downloading the
free editor IrfanView. You can open the graphic in IrfanView and use the
size tool to make it the correct size for 4 pages. Save that file as 'big
picture', then select the first page area, crop it and save it as Page 1.
Open the 'big picture' again and do the same for page 2 and so on. The print
each page from IrfanView.

try Microsoft Paint instead - when you print an image that is larger than
the printer page it splits it automatically to many pages so you can glue
them together to make a poster (btw, don't remember if you can turn off this
feature and stretch the image to fit in the page - I remember getting annoyed
by it when some scanned hires receipt was being split at many pages when I
was trying to print it)

also, some HP printers (maybe others too) have option at the printer driver
settings to print in many pages (it enlarges what you print onto a grid of
pages to make a poster). Try downloading the latest drivers for your printer
from the website of its manufacturer. Usually that has more options/utilities
than when just installing the driver for the same printer from WindowsUpdate
(but it's a bigger download)
