Default How do I open multiple MS Word windows?

Is there a setting within MS Word that will allow me to open multiple Word
windows (i.e. a new window for each document)?

My MS Word 2002 used to work that way and now doesn't.

I've got SP3 installed and am otherwise current on all my patches and
upgrades.

I have also used "Detect & Repair".

Any ideas? Thanks.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | check the "Windows in
Taskbar" box | OK.
