Default Configuration process

I have MS Office 2007 installed on my pc. Everytime I open Word 2007, it
spends a few minutes going through a "configuration process" before it opens.

Is this normal, and is there anyway I can avoid it so that Word just opens
within a few seconds like most other normal programmes?

many thanks
Stephen

No, but you need to see
http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com/2...03-coexisting/
and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928091 "Information about using 2007
Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another version of
Office".

I have both 2003 and 2007 installed, and only very rarely does 2007 tell me
it needs to sort itself out.
