Default Removing Revision Number and Edit Time, Date Created, Date Last Sa

Hello!

I use Word 2003 and I can't find how to get rid of personal information in
Properties, such as Revision Number and Edit Time, Date Created, Date Last
Saved. Does anybody know how to go about it? I use Windows XP and I have
already tried the Help section ("Remove personal or hidden information" ) but
it does not help. I have also tried this with no success:
http://www.microsoft.com/...4E5360&displaylang=en

Thanks for your help!

On the Security tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "Remove personal
information from file properties on save."

Thank you very much for your quick response. However, as per my OP, I have
already tried the Help section ("Remove personal or hidden information" ),
and so the box for "Remove personal information from file properties on save"
is already checked. I would be extremely grateful for some more ideas. Many
thanks!

What you are describing isn't considered personal information, they are
document statistics. You can save it as a new document, however the document
statistics won't "disappear" they'll take on the current date and such.
Every file has a "date of creation", a "date of modification", and an
"Accessed date". This type of data can't be suppressed.

If you could tell us more about why you need to remove them and perhaps we
could provide some suggestions. :-)

Many thanks for your answer. Much appreciated!

The reason I want this information deleted is that I am uncomfortable with
the fact that my colleagues can see how much time I spent editing a document,
how many edits I made, and what time it was when I last saved the document.
In a sense, I think this can be considered personal information, don't you?

Thanks again.

This is these statistics have been found to be unreliable at best but as
someone who often works in the wee hours of the morning I know where you're
coming from. :-) If "clearing" them is your primary concern I'd use Save As
and save it as a new document which essentially "resets" the statistics.
That way the Created, Modified, Accessed dates will all be within seconds of
each other and the total editing time will be set to 0 minutes. Just make
sure you close the document immediately after using Save As (or make sure
you don't make additional changes prior to closing it) or the "total editing
time" will start ticking away again. :-)
